Skewed Reality

I wear one to hide my shame 
I wear one to keep me safe 
I wear one to stay alone 
I wear one to block my fears 

Take one off to show the world who you are 
Take one off to feel pride in who you are 
Take one off to come together with others 
Take one off to say you will survive 

hiding from myself 
living close always alone 
wishing acceptance
