Fear
Perhaps a treat
Or maybe a steak
The feeling of dread
I just cannot fake
Why is he here
Waiting for me to drop
Should I call a fireman,
Or maybe a cop.
I may be stuck now
But it can’t be for long
If I get eaten alive
You’ll know you were wrong.

That’s Gypsy, my daughter’s American Staffordshire. She really is one of the softest dogs I have ever known. She was trying to get to me for a fuss, but it made a super photo, and has now engendered a great poem.

Yes, she doesn’t seem menacing at all and I think, if that is you, I see a smile on your face rather than fear.
