Blooming
And when I see the flowers bloom
I am reminded of the days of past
Where sunlight filtered in my room
But the brightest rays did not last.
For when the sun came higher up
I say the shadows on my sill
I’d like to drink sunshine in a cup
And drink until I had my fill.
So now I venture out the doors
To where the flowers rise
Up out of earth that rain pours
Its watery golden food surprise.
