Melanie hosts this weekly bout of questions…https://sparksfromacombustiblemind.wordpress.com/2022/02/21/share-your-world-2-21-2022/
- Questions
- What’s the most useful thing you know? How to read directions! I put all the stuff I purchase together. I have often thought about doing it as a side job…I’ve seen that advertised before. I’m very good at any type of directions
- What impact do you think it would have on the world if bananas were illegal? I don’t think people would care. I think people would just find something else to use in its place. The world seems like it is like that. I would miss them.
- What social stigma does society need to just get over? Race…Good Lord! How many pieces of evidence do we need to show that the human body is the human body no matter what color it comes in!
- Do you prefer the moral viewpoint of consequentialism*, which focuses on the consequences of actions, or deontology,* which focuses on the innate rightness or wrongness of the actions themselves? I think both because it starts with deontology and then if people pick the wrong thing to do they deal with consequentialism.
- con·se·quen·tial·ism
- /ˌkänsəˈkwen(t)SHəlizəm/
- noun
- PHILOSOPHY
- noun: consequentialism
- * the doctrine that the morality of an action is to be judged solely by its consequences.
- **************************************
- de·on·tol·o·gy /ˌdēänˈtäləjē/ noun
- PHILOSOPHY
- * the study of the nature of duty and obligation.
GRATITUDE SECTION (As always optional)
Please feel free to share something good that happened to you in the past week.
I am thankful that I have enough time to do some of the things I enjoy the most like crafting, building miniatures, crocheting…etc.
Social stigma? The whole shebang. Race, sexuality, religion, disability, body size. I say that I’m intolerant of intolerance and that’s something I work on. Accepting that people see the world differently from me.
I’m not sure what it’s called but I think that intention is a big part of my moral viewpoint. If someone truly is trying to make a positive change in the world, even if consequences were not planned, I’m okay with it. But it can be really hard to identify intention and whether it’s a control freak thing or truly a positive effort. I try most of the time not to judge.

I totally agree with you. I don’t think everyone has bad intentions when they do things. The biggest thing is if someone does something again…knowing the first attempt was not the right choice.

Thanks Christine for Sharing Your World! I suppose people wouldn’t miss bananas very much unless they were in need of some quick potassium, but like you, I’d miss them! Very good answer to the philosophical question as well! I’m glad you’re finding some free time that you can use to enjoy life a bit more! 🙂 And you have a rare skill in the being able to read instructions and follow them easily. I used to have that, but now it seems not so much. I miss THAT too! 😉 Have a great week!

It’s a very useful asset, too be able to read the instructions and follow them to make something from nothing.

David and I don’t always get along while building things. He takes too much time while I just start at #1 and go. A bunch of projects end up with me asking him to go find something else he can do so he stops distracting me.

Lol! It’s difficult to coordinate when two people have different approach.

We always agree that things should go in the same direction, it is just getting there that is different. He is too slow for me! Lol
