The Bird

Out on the road there was a crash
a real loud noise I heard
It seems a truck was full of trash
and the poor thing hit a bird.

The bird went down to the hot dirt
but looked up seeming fine
The trashman seemed like he was hurt
but he’d been drinking wine.

The police came there and took the guy
to jail ’cause he was drunk
The bird was up and started to fly
avoiding the trashman’s trunk.

So now the bird has little eggs
that babies they will hatch
and trashman has his shackled legs
the drunk police did catch.
