Obnoxious: Word of the day Challenge

This is…

What is more obnoxious than…….

  • telemarketers calling but leaving no message?
  • a group of people stopping right in front of you at the mall, oblivious that you are now part of the group?
  • a toddler screaming for no reason except that they didn’t get what they wanted?
  • ordering take-out and getting it home only to see that they made your meal wrong?
  • going to the store for one thing and coming out with a load of items but NOT the one thing you went in for?
  • having a craving for something sweet but having not one treat in the house?
  • finally finding a favorite brand and then they discontinue it?
  • a little kid screaming and the adult screaming even louder to shut them up? (like that will ever work?!?!?!?)
  • waiting for the mail only to find junk mail and supermarket flyers?
  • needing two eggs for your recipe but you only have one?
  • not having staples when you only needed one?

Champion: Word of the Day Challenge

The Fight

If I think I’ll rule the world
I’ll take you for the ride.
I’ll hold you tight and say
let’s go
with you right by my side.

I’ll conquer all the problems there
for no one needs the bother
We’ll fight together, fight like hell
A champion like no other.

My List

I had a list of ten
yes, I do mean men
who I thought someday I’d like
I’ve told few to take a hike.

I’ve met them all just once
None I could call a dunce
but most I did not think
held me in any sort of link.

I guess some day I will
Find one who’s able to thrill
Me in a way that I’d want
and one that I could flaunt.

For those on the list that I don’t
want to call, well now I won’t
I’ll use ghosting to say goodbye
If not ghosted, then I’d have to lie.

Zoo: Word of the Day Challenge

Written For: https://wordofthedaychallenge.wordpress.com/2020/03/31/zoo-2/

Monkeys at the Zoo

What kind of monkey do you think you will see
if you go to the zoo with your brother and me?

Will it be a chimpanzee who likes to play tricks
or a Gorilla who knows how to bang with some sticks?

Will it be a macaque with a head full of hair
or a lemur whose striped tail sticks straight in the air?

Will it be a Baboon or a cute marmoset?
When will we get there, are we there yet?

Ninny – Word of the Day Challenge

For: https://cyranny.com/2020/03/29/ninny-word-of-the-day-challenge/#like-52283

I’m no ninny!

What is a ninny, what can it be?
Is it a sea star under the sea?
Or maybe a bird up in a tree?
Or maybe something you’d like to see?
Or maybe a gift you want to give me?
Or maybe a zoo animal finally free?
Or maybe a different kind of a bee?

A ninny is nothing but some poor old fool
who probably skipped many days of his school
who belly flopped into the neighborhood pool
who tries to balance on a three-legged stool?
who thinks that glass is some kind of jewel
who never learned to use a real power tool?
who doesn’t care if he breaks one more rule?

So leave me be, I am not a ninny
I’m not that fat, not that skinny
just a person who loves things mini
who loves her pig that is a guinea
whose best friend is married to Vinnie.

Revenge: Word of the Day Challenge

You might not think it’s funny
and I don’t mean it to be
just watch your back
I might attack
Revenge is driving me.

I don’t know what actions I’ll bring
I could do most anything
Just be sure
lock your door
I don’t want a doorbell to ring.

Why do I feel like this now
I don’t know why or how
I got so mad
but that’s your bad
Since revenge has become my vow.

Gift: Word of the Day Challenge

For: https://wordofthedaychallenge.wordpress.com/2020/03/09/gift/

Is it a Gift?

Is it a gift to fall asleep at night

  • and dream of the people who are gone?
  • and remember the places you’ve been?
  • and talk to the dreams that are real in your head?
  • and know that the monsters go away when you wake?
  • and realize sleep rejuvenates?

Is it a gift to awaken in the morning

  • and realize it was all just a dream?
  • and remember those who are gone aren’t coming back?
  • and understand that dreams don’t always come true?
  • and see the new sun of a new day?
  • and think about all life has to offer?

Give a gift
to help lift
up someone’s mood
‘cause it feels good.
