QUESTIONS
What are you most proud of in the last year? I think I am most proud of the fact that I was forced to move to a new state, without notice, without my belongings, and without the people who love me to take care of my father and I kept it together, didn’t let myself fall apart, and have found ways to be happy with life as it now is.
If you see a puddle on the ground, do you walk around it or give in to the child within and splash about? Definitely walk around it because it could have worms in it or other creatures that live in the gross water. That being said, if the puddle is on pavement or a sidewalk and you can see clear to the bottom I might make a small splash, just not enough to get to wet.
Do you feel free? Why or why not? What does free mean? I guess I have a pretty good life where I have a lot of different freedoms. I have been blessed with enough to not be too needy of anything. I have lost a lot, especially my son, but I haven’t let that sadness keep me a prisoner.
What life skills are rarely taught but are extremely useful? Believe it or not I don’t think “cleaning up after yourself” is given the same priority as when I was a kid. People of every age seem to walk in, make a mess, and not care to walk out. I think of the movie theater. The lights go on and there is garbage everywhere. Then you look at a flight…Yes, the space is tight and yes it is not comfortable, but hey, you obviously had enough money to fly instead of drive so think of yourself as lucky with just that. But the amount of trash left on an airplane is embarrassing. Especially when the crew walks up and down the aisle with a plastic garbage bag, willing to take any and all of your garbage.
GRATITUDE SECTION (always optional)
Please share some gratitude with everyone! There are lots of reasons just now I think! I am so grateful that I have a roof over my head, even though it is not one I have chosen. I could complain but then I think about the people who don’t have anywhere to go.
Thank you Christine for Sharing Your World! It sounds like 2020 was a particularly stressful year for you. I’m glad you made it to the other side and still can be grateful for the things you have. Many could not do that, it’s a gift! There have been some interesting discussions about what freedom is, so I’m glad I asked that question this time. It’s definitely a perspective thing except in obvious cases like being incarcerated or something. I agree with you that the younger folks seem to be a bit more ‘piggish’ (apologies to pigs who are allegedly fairly clean animals) than society has seen before. Entitlement has a lot to answer for. Take care and have a wonderful week!
