I was nominated!

Thank you Roxacena; https://roxy743.wordpress.com/2020/05/11/vincent-ehindero-blogger-award-april-2020/

These are roxacena’s questions for me:

1. What’s your biggest fear in life? How do you deal with it? My biggest fear in life is losing more people before their time. I understand when people are elderly and pass but the passings like I have had to deal with in the past two years is different. This was a fear ever since my mother died when I was 23. The way that I deal with it is to remind myself that God has a plan and that there is no control over things such as death. I also remind myself that I am alive and I need to enjoy what time I have here on earth.

2. What are your accomplishments so far in terms of work/ career and life? I have two master’s degrees and a certificate in school administration. I feel I am good at what I do. I think I have accomplished a lot and am happy with what I have done with my life so far. There are things I would change if I could go back, but no real regrets.

3. Share your thoughts about couples with no kids (childless)? I think that if a couple does not want to have children, then they should stick to their guns and not listen to negativity. Life is different from before when women were able to have babies and stay home. Family dynamics were different too. From what I recall there was this divide between couples with kids and couples without kids. Now, I feel that divide is closing, as it doesn’t matter as much. There are times I envy couples like this because they seem to enjoy adult life in a very different, free sort of way.

4. How do you envision yourself when you reach 60 years old? I think I am going to be about the same as I am now. Hopefully in better shape and more active. I would love to be fully into my yoga practice.

5. Describe your relationship with your family? My mother passed away in 1994. My father and I are very close, however he now has dementia which is hard. I talk to one of my sisters. One sister is angry with me for something (I think when I asked her to move out of my house). One sister I have never met and my brother was in jail for so long, I don’t know where is he now. My husband passed away almost two years ago and my son passed last July. I am very close with my daughter and I have David as my partner. I have a few cousins who I am not necessarily close with but know that if I needed someone they would be there for me.

Let’s get to know each other more. Please answer the 5 questions below.

  1. If you could change only one thing in your life from your teens or early twenties, what would it be and how do you think your world would be now?
  2. Which would you choose and why?
    a. publishing 5 books through a vanity press
    b. publishing 5 books on your own
    c. publishing 1 book with a traditional, well-known publisher
  3. What one place would you like to live (if there were no restrictions on moving there, ie. job, money) for the rest of your life and why did you pick that place?
  4. What is your general opinion of people who blog?
  5. How old are you (you can narrow it down to a certain decade if you prefer, 60’s, 40’s, 80’s) and how long have you been blogging? If you have a thing about disclosing your age just skip to the blogging part.

  1. If you could change only one thing in your life from your teens or early twenties, what would it be and how do you think your world would be now? I would change how I treated people back then, which was with considerably less consideration than I do now.

Which would you choose and why? c. publishing 1 book with a traditional, well-known publisher because of its established promotional and distributional infrastructure.

What one place would you like to live (if there were no restrictions on moving there, ie. job, money) for the rest of your life and why did you pick that place? In a comfortable cabin at the base of a wooded mountain near the shore of the ocean.

What is your general opinion of people who blog? On WordPress, bloggers are by and large intelligent, supportive, and pleasant. I have no experience with other platforms but have heard that Redditors can be nasty and mean.

How old are you (you can narrow it down to a certain decade if you prefer, 60’s, 40’s, 80’s) and how long have you been blogging? If you have a thing about disclosing your age just skip to the blogging part. I will be 50 later this year. I’ve been blogging for 4 years and 2 months.

    Thanks for asking!

    1. I am wanting to publish traditionally too! I have four books that I did through a vanity press. I didn’t know the difference back then and of course they don’t tell you that they are not traditional publishers. It also cost a lot of money.
I want to live close to the ocean too. I have always lived within an hour. I can’t imagine living in the middle of the country!

    1. Thank you and thank you! I wish when I was young I had just gone to medical school when my father wanted to pay for it. I’d be a psychiatrist instead of a teacher, even though now adays a teacher has to sometimes play the role!

      1. Just keep in mind it’s never too late if that is something you still want to do. Teaching can sometimes be a thankless job, so thank you for what you do! Teachers inadvertently have the responsibility to try to minimize the hurt and pain that many students are dealing with that interferes with their school work. That’s not an easy thing to do especially if the parents are uninvolved in their lives.

      2. My first teaching job was in Clinical Day working for a mental hospital. The kids at our school were technically “kicked out” of public because of behaviors, mostly physical, but all based on emotional disturbance.

  3. My answers to your questions:
#1 ~ One thing I would change about my early teens is that I would have told my sister Terri (who recently passed away from ALS ) that I loved her more than I did, we had a bit of sibling rivalry back then but when we were in out twenties we developed an unbreakable bond for life.
    #2 ~ I would publish one book with a traditional, well-known publisher.
#3 ~ One place I would like to live is back in Nova Scotia( as that is where I was born and lived there till I went to Boston for my first teaching job) I love being by the ocean.
But I would not move there again as I love Colorado.
#4 ~ My opinion of people who blog is that for the most part they seem very sincere and enjoy their blogging experiences.
I used to blog on Blogger and still have connections with some of those people that I met.
#5 I am in my early fifties and have been blogging on WordPress since last November.

    Thank you ~

  4. Thank you Stine Writing for your answers. I’ve learned something. Actually, we do have common things and it’s great to know. I’m currently taking my master’s degree in business administration, then I’m into yoga practice also for 3 years now. And about your family circle, I’m so sorry to hear that! Anyway, let’s continue to pray for them. Thanks again.😍🙏
