Anyone who knows me knows this is right up my alley, right?!?!?!

Our homophone sets this week are:
wait – remain in readiness
weight – an amount of heaviness
and
warn – to advise of a hazard
worn – displaying evidence of use
Excuses
While going to the store
I spied a little shop
I saw it had some sweets
I thought that I should stop
the door said “Come on in”
but I thought that I should wait
I was trying to be healthy
I wanted to lose weight.
When suddenly the door
opened right up in my face
and unlike times before
I ran like in a race
The people coming after me
had tried to warn me first
that some old guy in worn out jeans
out the front door he would burst.
I tried to stop my running
afraid that if I fell
I’d really need some cunning
to make myself feel well
I knew that I would try to
stay in bed all day
but then the pounds won’t vanish
they’ll never go away.
