Kept

He kept her in a hidden chest
behind his jackets and a vest
to hold her for him
he wanted her slim
so he fed her once daily at best.

She found her way out of jail
when he went to go get the mail
she ran really fast
forgetting her past
And thanking God she’s not a snail.
