Eugi’s Weekly Prompt – Laughter – January 13, 2020 BY-EUGENIAON

My first impulse is to write a poem using the word “laughter”. I do have to first state that one of my favorite things to hear is a baby’s laughter…a sound of the angels!

Laughter

In the night the circus comes

and with it brings a clown

Don’t let laughter come out

He’ll want to take you down

Into the ring before you

To make you seem a fool

The creepy clown is laughing

You’re acting like a tool.

He thinks he’s being funny

Although that isn’t right

The only way to stop him

Is to go home for the night.

  1. Long ago, I used to have a yarn art portrait of a clown in my room. The moment I had nightmares of a clown hanging out by my bedroom door, I took it down! When I go home for the night, I need a reminder not to take the clown with me! 🙂

    • I have always been so terrified of clowns. I will have to look back in my blogs, there was a prompt I think for Six Word Saturdays about fear and I wrote something about a clown. They just creep me out.

  2. I agree with your statement before your poem – there is nothing more precious than a baby’s laughter. Love your poem – I don’t like clowns whether they are circus clowns or someone attempting to be funny. Thank you so much for participating.
