My Love

The apple of my eye,
The pie in the sky,
My sun when it rains,
My sweet sugar cane.
I never knew  we’d meet,
You’re so awesome, so sweet,
You caught me by surprise
With that twinkle in your eyes.
Now our love has grown,
I no longer feel alone,
you fill my heart with glee
I love that you love me.

Poetics: The Art of Being Human

The challenge is to write a metaphor poem that starts with the words ‘This being human is…’
Find it here: https://dversepoets.com/2021/03/16/poetics-the-art-of-being-human/

This being human is the feather on the ledge
of the building made of stone
teetering with each gust of wind
no matter how small
left there by mistake?
not knowing who left it
nor where it will go
dropped by accident or lost?
never finding its way back to its source
for that is too long gone
and has no idea
that its piece
is there
waiting
to
fall.

Tuesday, March 16, 2021: Tuesday Writing Prompt Challenge

Check it out here: https://godoggocafe.com/2021/03/16/tuesday-march-16-2021-tuesday-writing-prompt-challenge/

Today’s prompt: Write a poem about an empty house. Use the words brisk and solo.

The Place in the Woods

Along the path all wooded
Beyond the solo tree
a home lies still and silent
no people there to see.
It takes only a moment
of brisk walking to go
It’s worth the cold and distance
to see this place you know.
It stands as its been standing
for years since you were young
but no one seems to live there
No lights or flowers hung.
But love is what you feel here
for love is what is gives
Despite its dark and empty shell
where no one seems to live.

Writing Class

Whether a shirt or pants or shoe

A note, a letter, even a clue

A word in English class is here

An article full of meaning clear

Do you know what word I mean?

Can it be a sight unseen?

A thing to know when writing well

For me the word came quick but fell.

RDP-SUNDAY- BLANKET

FInd the info here: https://ragtagcommunity.wordpress.com/2021/03/07/rdp-sunday-blanket/

Waiting

Like a blanket of snow

Laying upon the frozen ground

During the early morning

No movement nor a sound

Asleep for time unknown

Beneath a frosty sheath

Waiting for the spring

The life waits underneath.

Weekend Writing Prompt #197 – Call

Check out Sammi’s site: https://sammiscribbles.wordpress.com/2021/02/20/weekend-writing-prompt-197-call/

When you get there

When you arrive
Place a call
Wait for an answer
Wait for the fall
Sit down and ponder
What happens next
Turn off your volume
Send your last text
Sit for a minute
Sweat it all out
Waiting is torture
Its what life’s about

Same, Same, But Different – Saturday Mix, 20 February 2021

To participate click here: https://wordpress.com/read/feeds/19271780/posts/3192033375

Your words are:

  1. change
  2. effect
  3. skip
  4. betray
  5. wonder

Reality

In a world of such diversity

Its hard to explore the aftermath

When time seems to ricochet

Between the past and the future

When all you can do is speculate

How life may mislead you

In the present.
