Sunday Poser # 272- Pride in your country

I’m proud to be an American because I think we do offer so much to people who are given nothing in the countries they come from. I feel like the US is a place where people can live freely and there is a way to survive.

That being said, right now I am not proud of what our government is doing. I don’t think anyone should be kicked out of our country, unless they are true criminals, true meaning found to be criminals in a court of law. But every country has criminals and here in the US a lot of criminals have better lives than people who are free.

Years ago, when I was in my early twenties, my little brother was in and out of jail. He didn’t think it was that bad, his words, not mine. He said that he got fed, he had clothing, had a bed, and didn’t have to do anything all day! But it is the tax payers that have to pay for that. It isn’t right that we have so many people who are homeless and get nothing while people who have killed other people or robbed them, get 3 meals a day and a hot shower.

Trump is a disgusting human being. I think that there is some speck of decency in some of the things he chooses to do, however, and this is a BIG however, his decisions are for his benefit, which then might trickle down to benefit some of the rest of us. Other than that, right now it is horrifying to say that we are Americans and that our officials feel it is “okay” to shoot a mother in her face because she wasn’t white or didn’t seem to be complacent.

So many mixed feelings in this question. I think for most people it is something that they could talk about and talk about…I won’t bore you! Anyways, do I think I am lucky to live in this country? Yes, I do. We have a lot more than so many other countries have to offer.

  1. A very honest analysis of your life in USA. I agree that previously people used to dream to go and live in America because it WAS the land of opportunity. Now with this government, things are hazy to say the least. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
