No presents for me, no trees, no lights
No caroling children, no elfen sprites
The baubles are missing, the wreath is gone
Theres no more soft caroling, not one last song
The gifts are not bought, the music is off
I cannot stop sneezing, I have a bad cough
My throat is quite sore, I ache in my ear
I’ll just have to wait to enjoy it next year

Thanks for the inclusion Christine. Sorry you’re under the weather but Christmas can come early in 2026 if you celebrate in January! We got fed up with all the hype and one year celebrated Julymas. I wrote a special poem and sent out cards too!

You know, I got asked about this post and I didn’t even realize it gave the impression that I had a bad day. I wrote it thinking it was exactly the opposite of what it should be, but I did have a wonderful holiday. Next time I will put a little addendum after it!

I feel awful that I gave the impression that my Christmas wasn’t going well. Everyone is always so kind and I honestly didn’t realize it. I just wrote that to be contradictory to what it would be for a holiday. Thank you for checking in.

I am apologizing to everyone for their kindness and thoughtfulness but I wrote that poem more as a contradictory to what it should be poem. I actually had a pleasant day.
