Here are this week’s questions:
1. What was the last book you read?
I usually have three books going at one time, one on Audible, one on an e-reader or computer, and one hardcopy. I just finished “The Twisted Ones” by T. Kingfisher on Audible. I recently finished “Knight Shadow” by Alicia Bienia on my laptop, and I just finished “Village of the Lost Girls” by Agustin Martinez as my hardcopy book.
2. Do you think movies are better or worse than the books they are based on?
I think that usually the books are better because you get so much more information and you also make your own “mind pictures” of scenes. Two books that I do remember being worse to read and easier to watch despite whatever visual effects would be possible in movie making are “Pet Cemetery” and “Misery” both by Stephen King. I can’t think of any movie that I saw that was better than the book.
3. What is the most memorable movie soundtrack or theme to you?
I have to say the first soundtrack that comes to mind is from “Dirty Dancing”.
4. Did you enjoy the old musicals (Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, Howard Keel, Doris Day etc)
I never really watched the old musicals although we did see many musicals when I was a child. Mostly small theater, hometown stuff. I remember going to a lot of high school plays even when I was much younger than high school age.
Gratitude: I am so thankful for all that I have been given and the opportunities that I have to move around freely, go where I want, do what I want, … I think of some of the countries who are under attack, like Ukraine, and wonder what people do if they have to worry all the time.

Lovely post Christine. Thanks for joining in and sharing your world.
I remember Dirty Dancing very well. One of my foster girls loved the movie and we had to hire the video every weekend!!

I’ve tried the traditional publishing route but it is so hard to get in, especially with children’s picture books.
