Back in the day when things seemed alright
when sun shone daily, the moon shone bright
where children were. heard up in their rooms
and barbecues burnt, sending off fumes
The time where life seemed happy and bright
the birds in the day, fireflies at night
I think of those days and smile a bit
But cry at the loss of so much of it
In watching the people around me who care
They look to be good, days seem quite fair
Not worrying about what should’ve been done
Focusing more on life and on fun
Then there comes me who looks at my life
So much to thank for, minimal strife
except for the deaths of those I hold dear
No longer with me, no longer near
So I pick my chin up and look what I’ve got
and forget about all of things I have not
Feeling the power of new energy
Wondering how many memories there’ll be

I sometimes wonder if purposely trying to be positive is the same as being positive.

I asked someone else but is it the same to be positive and trying to be positive?
