writing a poem that includes some form of the word scare: https://dversepoets.com/2022/10/31/quadrille-163-lets-scare-up-some-poems/
Scared
Long, boney fingers push aside
dusty folds
In the hem
on Granny’s couch
Waiting to pull my toes
and hear my cries
Mama wonders why I say “ouch”
I cannot tell her
what scares me
I stare at the tv
in a comfortable slouch.

As a child, I would be scared of that too.

The down side of a youngster’s imagination. I wish the kid would tell the parent!

I used to be terrified to have any part of my body hanging over the edge of my bed.

Scary but they eventually go away. I’ve never once known them to attack a big kid

Ooooo! Couch Ghosties! I remember being afraid of these terrible tootsie traumatizers! Well done.

Thanks! I just finished listening to a novel where the ghost would pinch the kids toes to try and get him to look at him, but he didn’t until he was an adult at the very end.
