Welcome Autumn
Autumn is a time to play
in leaves so crisp and cool
spring is off in the distance
when kids do work in school
The first flower to show its bud
might be the lovely mum
The second gift from mother earth
are apples, so yum yum
Maple trees have given us
its sweet and sticky sap
A season for every family
and sit in pappa’s lap
Sun is setting early now
and kids get tucked in tight
For many of the holidays
during fall occur at night.

When I think about all the different holidays and especially how much kids look forward to them it brings a smile to my face. Nothing beats watching kids get excited over every holiday!

Very nice use of the words! I like the flowers, then the second gift of the apples. It really is getting dark so much sooner. My dog is confused, he used to go out for the last time at dark, now it’s too early for bed when he’s done! It’s easier to sleep later though, which is nice.

I think the US has done away with changing the clocks. I don’t mind it getting darker a bit earlier but when it is only 4:00 in the afternoon and it already looks like night it is hard to accomplish very much!

48 of the states still change their clocks. Arizona and Hawaii are the exceptions. There’s no good reason for any of them to do it anymore.
