Welcome to the 6 minute challenge!
Today’s prompt is:

*****For any participants that do NOT like restrictions, please feel free to participate in any way you would like. It is great to read the contributions!****
- Set up a timer or sit near a clock so you can keep track of the six minutes you will be writing.
- You can either use one of the prompts (photo or written) or you can free-write.
- Get ready and write for 6 minutes, that is it! Can you write a complete story? Can you think of a new Sonnet? Can you write 400 words? 400? 500? There are no restrictions on what kind of writing you do, but you should try to be actively writing for six minutes.
- After you are done writing, include your word count and then post back to this page #Simply6Minutes or include your link in the comments section. Pingbacks are enabled.
- *Feel free to leave your work completely unedited. I believe it is good to see, especially for new writers, that even very seasoned writers don’t write a perfect first draft.*
- Have fun, challenge yourself if you’d like, read and respond to others’ posts.
Thank you for participating!

As I gaze upon the moss covered long forgotten tracks it transports me to a long past time when the train was one of the popular modes of transport bringing the logging to the timber mill. As I sit here watching the last wagon disappear into the distance I wonder how many people passed along this way pondering their life’s journey? Were they happy? Were they joyful? Were they sad? Had they many regrets in life? Were they in touch with the deeper part of themselves, the deeper knowing of their soul’s path, their souls growth?
What was life like back then when things moved at a much slower pace, when people had time to catch a breath? As I walk along these tracks now taking in all the wonderful gifts that mother nature brings through my 5 senses, seeing the beauty through my eyes, hearing the wonderful sounds through my ears smelling the different woodland aromas, the touch of the cold bark of the tree as I pause for a moment and sigh. I connect deeper to mother nature grateful for the gift she gives me in this moment of pause as she collects all my worries and woes. She carries them away as my heart is filled with gratefulness for her wondrous beauty and the gift she bestows upon me. I am thankful for this moment of pause……229 words
