Welcome to the 6 minute challenge!
Today’s prompt is:

*****For any participants that do NOT like restrictions, please feel free to participate in any way you would like. It is great to read the contributions!****
- Set up a timer or sit near a clock so you can keep track of the six minutes you will be writing.
- You can either use one of the prompts (photo or written) or you can free-write.
- Get ready and write for 6 minutes, that is it! Can you write a complete story? Can you think of a new Sonnet? Can you write 400 words? 400? 500? There are no restrictions on what kind of writing you do, but you should try to be actively writing for six minutes.
- After you are done writing, include your word count and then post back to this page #Simply6Minutes or include your link in the comments section. Pingbacks are enabled.
- *Feel free to leave your work completely unedited. I believe it is good to see, especially for new writers, that even very seasoned writers don’t write a perfect first draft.*
- Have fun, challenge yourself if you’d like, read and respond to others’ posts.
Thank you for participating!

Here is my contribution!
Like a lonely bird afraid to fly
I sit and watch the world go by
I sit and wonder where I am
And think of all the hype and glam
of worlds around that have no strife
of being happy as David’s wife
To be alone but not afraid
And live with the mistakes I’ve made
To know that when I am alone
I’m not afraid for I’ve been shown
That love will go with me each day
and keep me safe while on my way
to places that I want to go
places I don’t even know
Where people live like kings and queens
or some by just their simple means
but happy to be alive and well
knowing their own tale to tell
will brighten up the darkest day
and to this fine hope I want to pray
that people live like I live here
Thankful for all far and near
for I have more than I could stand
although they’re spread across the land
but in my heart they always stay
to brighten up the darkest day
beyond my dreams or wishes too
Thankful for friends and family who…
times up! (192 words)

Last Woman on Earth
A young child
Sits down on a blanket
In the forest
Not knowing that she
May be the last woman
On earth.

That’s okay. I like to do that too. Sometimes I don’t. As I was telling another blogger, lately I have been falling asleep as I type. I didn’t for my 6 minutes but that made it easier to leave “undone” since it is starting to be my “norm”.

I enjoyed your poem and it made me think about Lewis Carroll.
