Welcome to the 6 minute challenge!
Today’s prompt is:
*****For any participants that do NOT like restrictions, please feel free to participate in any way you would like. It is great to read the contributions!****
- Set up a timer or sit near a clock so you can keep track of the six minutes you will be writing.
- You can either use one of the prompts (photo or written) or you can free-write.
- Get ready and write for 6 minutes, that is it! Can you write a complete story? Can you think of a new Sonnet? Can you write 400 words? 400? 500? There are no restrictions on what kind of writing you do, but you should try to be actively writing for six minutes.
- After you are done writing, include your word count and then post back to this page #Simply6Minutes or include your link in the comments section. Pingbacks are enabled.
- *Feel free to leave your work completely unedited. I believe it is good to see, especially for new writers, that even very seasoned writers don’t write a perfect first draft.*
- Have fun, challenge yourself if you’d like, read and respond to others’ posts.
Thank you for participating!

I was able to write a sonnet—-not my greatest work, but off the cuff. This is my first time taking this challenge. May I use this picture for my Sunday’s post as I think I will use my Sonnet for this week’s Poetry Corner to see what my reader’s think.

Of course! Thanks for joining in! I have no restrictions or any of that. I just like reading what people write. I haven’t written a sonnet in a long time! Might be time to try again.

The title of the sonnet is Happy Kingdom. I will post it on Sunday. If you have an opportunity please stop by and let me know what you think—Thanks for your time and consideration. Blessings and Peace!

Please post it! Do you know how to do a pingback? I will check this weekend but please give me a nudge if you don’t notice me!

I’m not sure I can explain it correctly but I will try. If you go to my post, the one for the Simply 6 minutes and then copy and paste the URL from the top of your screen into the text of your post it should go back to me. Do you know how to insert a URL into your text? Again, don’t know how to explain it but you highlight a word, let’s say you highlight “simply 6”. A box pops up. click on the symbol sort of like this: (-) and then copy and paste the URL in the box. Aslo, when you are done writing your post and you hit publish (twice usually for me) it gives you a URL of your post, along the righthand side of the post. Copy and paste it into the comment on my page, in the comments section of Simply 6. I know the directions suck but there are quite a few people who can explain it if you are out blog hopping. You might be able to google it too. Sorry I’m not much help with all that.

My brain must not have been working…I had better check to make sure next weeks isn’t the same. If it is I am going to start worrying. Lol
