This old boat

Too far from water to enjoy the waves 

Too close to water to be secure on land. 

Too messy to look brand new. 

To clean to look old and used. 

Left to rise above the water. 

No longer able to sink in the sea. 

Still vacant on an empty dock. 

Once occupied by a lover of the sea.   

Thankful to be safe and dry.

Wanting to float freely in the waves.
