Crimson’s Creative Challenge #103

For Crispina Kemp’s weekly challenge:

Hope for our world

Nobody knows what the countries go through
that have evil leaders who do what they do

But in the civilized world we have evil too
Dehumanizing people, clouding our view

We have to think of how humans must feel
when all they can think is “negativity’s real”

And where are the people who built to conceal
the anger and hatred, I mean what is their deal?

If kindness could run from person to person
wouldn’t our world be a little more fun?

If peace and prosperity rolled into one
Then maybe the evil can be slowly undone.

Fairy Door

Deep in the forest
away from the light
there was a small door
for someone so slight.
It led to a world
that no one did know
but one where the fairy
always wanted to go.
She flew to the door
and peeked right inside
If she saw something scary
she wanted to hide.
But the world that she saw
when she looked in the door
was a beautiful world
That she wanted much more.
So there she did go
with a flip of her wings
and now she is happy;
hear the tune that she sings.

Crimson’s Creative Challenge

Written for Crispina Kemp:

This old boat

Too far from water to enjoy the waves

Too close to water to be secure on land.

Too messy to look brand new.

To clean to look old and used.

Left to rise above the water.

No longer able to sink in the sea.

Still vacant on an empty dock.

Once occupied by a lover of the sea.

Thankful to be safe and dry.

Wanting to float freely in the waves.

Crimson’s Creative Challenge #73

Thank you Crispina for hosting:

Every Wednesday I post a photo (this week it’s that one above.)
You respond with something CREATIVE

Danny didn’t know how long it had been since he had seen this place. He used to come here often when he was a kid. Always wanting to see where the door led. Maybe nowhere, but maybe to some tunnel that led to treasure or led to a new special place. When he had come as a boy the door wasn’t covered with weeds. It had been a door to another world.

Now, Danny looked at the door. He felt like he wanted to crawl in and just sit quietly, peacefully, by himself without the rest of the world bustling around him. He still wondered what was behind that door. Maybe nothing, maybe a whole other world. He figured he would never know and soon the door would be covered so completely by greenery that it would be lost until someday, someone decided to cut down this forest. He hoped he wasn’t around for that.

Falling from the tower
the princess she did go.
Because her hair can’t save her
when the strong winds blow.

So now back in the tower
she lives in so much calm
She loves to see the birds
They eat out of her palm.

And when the prince comes calling
She gladly says hello.
She sees him high upon his steed
And loves his strong shadow.

Treasure Trove

What have we here?

A small treasure trove?

Found from the earth

Perhaps in the grove.

In the grove of trees

Where fruit will grow

Places to find fortune

to reap and to sow.

Under that old tree

There used to be a crate

Now that old brown box

Holds treasure that is great.
