Duck: word of the day challenge

wanting a duck

When I was a kid
I tried to walk like a duck
with my hands on my hips
to my back my hands stuck.

Those were my wings
but the silliest were my toes
sticking out to the sides
as only a ducks foot goes.

I’d quack and quack
and sound up a storm
to introduce myself
and my new duck form.

I thought back then
that all ducks could be
friendly pets who
want to befriend me.

I realize now
that all those birds
loved me so by
their quacking words.

So now I sit and ponder
where all my ducks are at
I don’t think I ever had any
thanks to my fat cat!

Bosom: word of the day challenge

Written for Cyranny’s Cove Word of the Day:

emotional reset

Lay your head upon me

Let my bosom be your pillow

Feel the warmth of my body

Instill heat in your cold bones

While placing safety and security

In your mind to ponder then trust

So that you may lift your head

Stand tall

And begin your day again.

Champion: Word of the Day Challenge

Written for:

The Fight

If I think I’ll rule the world
I’ll take you for the ride.
I’ll hold you tight and say
let’s go
with you right by my side.

I’ll conquer all the problems there
for no one needs the bother
We’ll fight together, fight like hell
A champion like no other.
