As much as I have tried to be
The person who I am today
Mistakes I’ve made, too blind to see
Concerned I live some special way
But now I’m here, and I’m alone
Not sorry that my life’s mundane
I munch on chips, I work from home
With sorrow, happiness, and pain
I pause to think of the elderly
And imagine that they lived a life
With only small uncertainties
No rush to bring sadness or strife
For in the end I’ve dug my grave
And drop to see how deep it is
Of all I’ve lost and what I save
The air released before the fizz
I’ve modified the saddest times
Provided things could somehow change
A digital stopwatch without chimes
Heat and cold, boring and strange
Live outside the box is what I’m told
Halt when you hear the saddest song
For when you age, when you are old
Forget mistakes, what you’d done wrong.

I can certainly relate. The older I get, the more I ponder my life.

Every generation endures its own adversities- they are just so ingrained in the fabric of day-to-day life by the time the next generation discovers their own- they seem petty or nonexistent in comparison.
