Where Tears Fall

Where do my tears fall?
With each anniversary,
there is a new tug at my heart.
Where will my tears fall?
With each birthday,
no physical celebration takes place.
Where do my tears fall?
Without you
my instincts as a mother
are hidden
Without you
my intuitions as a mother
are silenced
Without you
my habitudes as a mother
are restrained
Where will my tears fall
Tomorrow
when I go to say
Happy Birthday?

For today’s prompt, take the phrase “Where (blank),” replace the blank with a new word or phrase, make the new phrase the title of your poem, and then, write your poem.
