QUESTIONS OF THE DAY
Where do you primarily shop for groceries?
I tend to go to Publix in Florida because of the sales. Every week they have things that are buy one/ get one so I buy those things I need. It saves a boat load of money especially when toilet paper or paper towels are BOGO. One week my receipt said I saved $96! Now, some say I probably didn’t need all that and I bought it because it was on sale, but for this particular trip, and most others, I only buy the things we will use that week. I have a pantry full of food that I have no interest in making, which is terribly sad, especially when people go hungry every day!
Do you share the same photos in your blog as you put on Instagram? Why or why not?
My blog and my Instagram are two different entities for the most part. My blog focuses on writing and I do enjoy some of the relationships I have with my blogging family. There are many of “us”, and I say that because it’s been since the beginning of my blogging, that have been family for over five or six years now. Instagram is more of just the fun stuff, not very significant, like a delicious meal at a restaurant or even to show off some of the miniatures I make. I don’t think many Instagramers want to read poetry when scrolling through all the junk.
If you have a blog do you write book reviews? If you’re on Goodreads do you put them there? On Amazon? Other?
I do write book reviews for a few authors. I used to try to write one for every book I read or listened to but now I listen to so many books on audible its too hard. The one thing I like about writing a book review is being able to go back and recall the story in a way I totally understand and can jog my memory. Its a shame but I forget so many of the books that I read, even the ones I love! I have a whole section of book reviews somewhere on my blog. Now I tend to write them only if the book was super good!
But, that being said, I do read and write reviews for certain authors who send me ARC books. I also read and review on Booksprout. Most of my reviews go to Goodreads and to Amazon.
Do you, like me, look forward to posts from bloggers who write using a self-created prompt on a specific day of the week?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. There are times that I can roll out the poetry or the ideas for stories and jump from one blog to the next, “participating” with numerous other bloggers. But, I do tend to feel bad that I don’t go every day or every week to the same ones. Honestly, there are so many that I can’t keep track! I used to keep track of it all but it got too hard. I created my weekly prompt so that people could write whatever or not write at all, write in six minutes or take longer. Sometimes a lot of people participate, sometimes not, that’s the life of blogging.

Thanks for linking to my post. I appreciate it.
I’d like to shop at Publix but our closest one is an hour away so not going to happen. I agree with your assessment: “Instagram is more of just the fun stuff, not very significant…” I enjoy being there but am sporadic. And that’s okay!
Your last sentence is a good summary of how personal blogging works. You just never know what’ll hit with readers and what they’ll think is a snooze.

I don’t write book reviews but I do read them! I’ve found some really good books that way!

I’ve found a few books this way but I haven’t been deterred from reading because of a review. Once I think I will like a book I like to give it a try. Honestly, it wasn’t until I was in my forties that I finally realized if a book sucked I didn’t have to finish it. I always felt I should stick it out to the end, which in most cases I do.
