Keeping Watch: A Compilation

My soldier stands guard outside of my sight
keeping an eye on me night after night
the feeling that someone tickles your skin
the knowledge of their love kept deep within
A trinket, a token, a small useless form
Keeping me grounded, life feeling norm
I grip at the feeling and try to find out
If the eavesdropping figure holds any clout
Like the lilacs that bloom purple, white, and bright pink
My guardian angel knows just what I think
About the things that go on, day after day
And why my sad feelings will not go away.
