Welcome to the 6-minute challenge!
Today’s prompt is:

This is a road sign showing a deer kicking a person
*****For any participants that do NOT like restrictions, please feel free to participate in any way you would like. It is great to read the contributions!****
- Set up a timer or sit near a clock so you can keep track of the six minutes you will be writing.
- You can either use one of the prompts (photo or written) or you can free-write.
- Get ready and write for 6 minutes, that is it! Can you write a complete story? Can you think of a new Sonnet? Can you write 400 words? 400? 500? There are no restrictions on what kind of writing you do, but you should try to be actively writing for six minutes.
- After you are done writing, include your word count and then post back to this page #Simply6Minutes or include your link in the comments section. Pingbacks are enabled.
- *Feel free to leave your work completely unedited. I believe it is good to see, especially for new writers, that even very seasoned writers don’t write a perfect first draft.*
- Have fun, challenge yourself if you’d like, read and respond to others’ posts.
Thank you for participating!

Howdy, CHRISTINE!
I came here looking for your debut entry in ‘Battle Of The Bands’. (I’ve got your participation announced and your blog linked to my BOTB post.) Have you changed your mind about joining us? If not, it’s certainly not too late to post a match-up, because we all leave the voting window open for at least a full week.

How do I know what music was played at the Silver Dollar Saloon? I am so confused!

The “Silver Dollar Saloon Song Challenge’ just happens to be the THEME that I, *myself*, have been using. You could use anything you want. Like — just off the top of my noggin here — how about the song ‘HELP’, The Beatles versus The Carpenters? (I would NOT recommend doing that match-up!) Or, ‘I Get A Kick Out Of You’, Frank Sinatra versus Ella Fitzgerald? Or… honestly, the possibilties are practically endless!
.
If you’d rather wait a month, think about it, and maybe join us again on September 1st, that’s perfectly fine. The *LAST* thing I want is for BOTB to cause anyone *ANY* degree of stress. It’s supposed to be “FUN!”
.
If you’re not sure how it works, and you want to clarify things with me over the next 4 weeks, that’s perfectly fine. Don’t worry about it, PLEASE!!!

[…] Jacque knew Americans were eccentric but upon seeing the sign at his first stop on the tour he was flabbergasted. He’d now seen it all. Apparently, dancing with deer was encouraged here. Having grown up wealthy in Paris, he’d never come face to face with a wild deer and frankly wasn’t terribly interested in such an encounter. But as each tourist found a spot for a picnic lunch, he heard a terrible commotion and was shocked to see a man with a camera getting stomped and knocked to the ground by a deer! The park rangers raced to the man’s rescue with first aid equipment and quickly chased the deer into the woods. Jacque wasn’t taking any chances after that. He stored his camera in his duffle and Googled which dances deer in America preferred. Insulting one of them obviously wasn’t a safe thing to do!https://christinebialczak.com/2023/08/01/simply-6-minutes-welcome-to-the-challenge-08-01-2023/ […]
