We – Christine and David – Couplets – D’Verse Poets Pub

Well this is up my alley as I always love to rhyme
and so I sit and think real hard, but I will take my time….

The task is to write a poem about “We”:

So for today’s prompt we are writing a poem about:-
We as a pair, a couple (not a group)
It can be any real or imaginary friendship
It might be a significant other, a relative or a pet
But the poem’s stanzas MUST BE WRITTEN AS COUPLETS

Christine and David

We met on the web, simply by chance
We wed on the beach, but had no first dance
We stated our love under God and the sun
We vowed to stay loyal, we vowed to be one

The days have gone by and still its a “we”
Our love still continues as strong as can be
We’ve had all our ups and some of the downs
A true royal couple sans golden crowns

The future burns bright for our firey bond
Both of the hats of a couple we donned
No need to rethink or return to the “I”
We vow to remain “we” until the day that we die.
