Despite the seismic shock of having her baby born at home, Veva was keenly aware of the insipid reaction from her partner. This new little life was beautiful and regardless of how painful the birth had been, she felt like a valiant princess who just escaped from a witch’s evil spell. Nothing could minimize the love and strength she felt at that moment, holding the little life in her arms.
