Song Lyric Sunday: Bubblegum Pop

Jim is hosting John’s idea of music called Bubblegum Pop. I don’t know when the last song was written in this genre or even if there was a “last song”. All I know is that like last week, many of these tunes were a bit before my time. Join in here: https://jimadamsauthordotcom.wordpress.com/2023/02/18/chewy-delectable-luscious-yummy/

I love this song. I always listened to it being sung by Neil Diamond but I found this…Apparently, Andy Kim was the original singer.

Lyrics

Ain’t it good

Ain’t it right

That you are with me here tonight

The music playing

Our bodies swayin’ in time

In time, in time, in time

Touching you so warm and tender

Lord, I feel such a sweet surrender

Beautiful is the dream that makes you mine

Mmm

Rock me gently

Rock me slowly

Take it easy

Don’t you know

That I have never been loved like this before

Baby, baby

Rock me gently

Rock me slowly

Take it easy

Don’t you know

That I have never been loved like this before

Oh my darling

Oh my baby

You got the moves that drive me crazy

And on your face I see a trace of love

Of love, of love, of love

Come hold me close

Don’t let me go

I need you, honey

I love you so

You were made for me by the stars above

Oh, rock me gently

Rock me slowly

Take it easy

Don’t you know

That I have never been loved like this before

And baby, baby

Rock me gently

Rock me slowly

Take it easy

Don’t you know

That I have never been loved like this before

Rock me gently

Rock me slowly

Take it easy

Don’t you know

That I have never been loved like this before

Ain’t it good

Ain’t it right

That you are with me here tonight

Rock me gently

Rock me slowly

Take it easy

Don’t you know

That I have never been loved like this before

Baby, baby

Rock me gently

Rock me slowly

Take it easy

Don’t you know

That I have never been loved like this before

      1. “Partridge Family” came on after “The Brady Bunch,” which I watched faithfully because of Maureen McCormick… anyway, I’m shocked that no one chose something from “The Partridge Family,” or “The Brady Bunch,” or something other than “Sugar, Sugar” by The Archies. And what of The Ohio Express?
