This week the theme is songs that feature lyrics about Space, Planets, or Aliens suggested by Di of pensitivity101
This was always a favorite of mine.
“Walking On The Moon”
Giant steps are what you take
Walking on the moon
I hope my legs don’t break
Walking on the moon
We could walk forever
Walking on the moon
We could live together
Walking on, walking on the moon
Walking back from your house
Walking on the moon
Walking back from your house
Walking on the moon
Feet they hardly touch the ground
Walking on the moon
My feet don’t hardly make no sound
Walking on, walking on the moon
Some may say
I’m wishing my days away
No way
And if it’s the price I pay
Some say
Tomorrow’s another day
You stay
I may as well play
Giant steps are what you take
Walking on the moon
I hope my legs don’t break
Walking on the moon
We could walk forever
Walking on the moon
We could be together
Walking on, walking on the moon
Some may say
I’m wishing my days away
No way
And if it’s the price I pay
Some say
Tomorrow’s another day
You stay
I may as well play
Keep it up, keep it up [ad infinitum]
I’d forgotten this! Great choice!

I love this Police song. “My feet don’t hardly make no sound”, is interesting, as you cannot hear any sound on moon, because sound is vibrations in a medium. Sound can travel in the atmosphere of the moon, which is space, because the gases in it can propagate sound just like the air on earth transmits it, but we certainly cannot hear it. Nice choice Christine.

Yaasssss! Any song by the Police brings me right back to 1982 in the gym at one of the school dances. Such fond memories and their music was often the back drop.

I love this song. Great choice. My personal favorite though is by Styx, “Come Sail Away”.
