Writing is hard – finding the right word is work, and (as a post-menopausal female with hormonally triggered brainfog) it’s only getting harder.

I know what you’re thinking – if writing is work and work is a four letter word, why do I do it? I don’t have a choice.

I was an actress once upon a time (in the days before I became an Accidental Mother), and the first question my coach asked us was “Why do you want to be an actor?” Some of my classmates laughed when I said “I don’t”, but our teacher loved my answer. As he put it “The greatest artists don’t WANT to create – they have to create or die.” He didn’t mean it literally (at least, I hope he didn’t).
