Today’s word is “ivory.”

Elephant’s Ivory 

An elephant tusk is the first thing you see 

When you pass by the place that sells ivory. 

Its beautiful texture and wonderful hues 

Makes poaching and killing horrible news. 

We love what we have with that hard white plaster 

But don’t think about the poor herd master 

He’s missing a member of his elephant tribe 

Because we want ivory, its sort of a bribe. 

What can we do for more ivory to make? 

Find a white stone and make it a fake. 

This way we keep all the elephants alive 

Where in the wild they can all thrive.
