Memories

I remember the day as if it was yesterday. The sun was shining, and it was hot! Brad and I had found this area in the park where we could get a little shade. It was the first time he kissed me. The butterflies in my stomach were busier than all the bugs in the forest. He had taken out his pocketknife and started carving something in the trees. I told him to stop, that he would kill the tree. He said the tree would be fine. Now I wish he had written our whole names, Brad and Rochelle forever.

Thursday photo prompt: Vista #writephoto

This week’s prompt ~ Vista

Written for Sue’s challenge: https://scvincent.com/2020/07/09/thursday-photo-prompt-vista-writephoto/

Heading down

Coming around the corner of the sloping hill I could see how far the path went. I was hoping to get to the end; however, I wasn’t sure how I would get back to where I started. This was the easier way to go, starting at the top vista of the mountain, and heading down. I didn’t have the physical stamina to start at the bottom and walk up the path. Being here by myself, although peaceful, was worrisome. What if I didn’t make it down to the bottom? What if I got to the bottom and everyone was gone for the day? What if I got to the end of the path and I was told I had to go back the way I came? I think I’d try to call for an Uber. I wonder if Uber drivers come out this far. It was worth a shot, otherwise I might have to hitchhike my way back. I left my car about 15 minutes higher up the mountain. Maybe I should just turn around now and go back while I still had energy and a little bit of water. Nah, going down was much more relaxing and rewarding, especially for my sore bones.

I will always love you

If you live in the desert, I will love you

If you live in the tropical rainforest, I will love you

If you live in the temperate forest, I will love you

If you live in the tundra, I will love you

If you live in the taiga, I will love you

If you live on the grasslands, I will love you

If you live in the savanna, I will love you

No matter where you are in the world, I will always love you.

Strolling

Through the deep woods we go strolling

Sweetly talking of love and hope

Silent ‘cept the sound of our feet

Although air is humid, we cope.

Yellow lilies bloom in the brush

Waving so softly in the wind

Love blossoms here alongside us

Happily showing there’s no end.

TUESDAY – ANYTHING POSSIBLE – KREATIVE KUE #270 BY KEITH CHANNING

Kreative Kue #270

Fear

Perhaps a treat

Or maybe a steak

The feeling of dread

I just cannot fake

Why is he here

Waiting for me to drop

Should I call a fireman,

Or maybe a cop.

I may be stuck now

But it can’t be for long

If I get eaten alive

You’ll know you were wrong.

Pure love

Veva watched from high above
the sweetness of the hummingbird.
From her heart she felt such love
Her thoughts shown through her word.

“Oh beautiful bird I can see
that you’re surely made from grace
you fly with intense dignity
Into this open space.”

The bird flew on not knowing
that what she said was true
For while the winds were blowing
She knew not what to do

“I fly because God made me
to soar about this land
I come and go around the sea
that’s all I understand.”

Veva stopped and held her hand
out to the precious bird
The bird she knew not where to land
she thought the girl absurd.

“I cannot land upon you now
for I only have pure fear
you look so safe and I will vow
to stay so very near.”

“Oh bird I understand you
but let me tell the truth
I watched you as the wind blew
to see if there was proof.”

“Proof of God, of love, of grace
in what he made you into
Trust my voice, my hands my face
for I would never hurt you.”
