Three Things Challenge

Your three things today are:

Back at the ranch

Under the stars

The pressure was on

To head straight to the bars

No money to spare

So, we knew to drink light

A ticket to paradise

Not far from sight.

That Cat is Back!

And so the cat came back again
To tempt the boy and girl.
He wanted just a silly game
not for a problem to unfurl.
He told them both to grab the fish
Inside his tiny bowl
The fish he yelled he was just fine
And then his eyes did roll
He knew what was in store for him
He’d been here once before
The last time that the game ensued
It backfired more and more.
The kids they took the poor old fish
And put him in the sink
The cat he was a crazy thing
And took the bowl to drink
He wanted to just taste the fish
But not let the kids find out
Luckily the kids were faster
They saved the fish no doubt.
And so the cat he left again
And took his mess and game
The children often look for him
Of course they know his name.

He says I’m chubby

If he tells me one more time that I look chubby I think I am going to lose it. Does the man who inseminated me not know what pregnant looks like? How on earth can one man go from a loving, romantic lover to a sarcastic, lazy louse in the matter of hours?

The New Pet

Veva stopped the tennis match she had been watching on television, knowing her brother would be stopping by any minute. Bruce was coming by to show her his new exotic parrot. He had gone to the store to see what pets they had that might suit his lifestyle. Bruce told Veva that the parrot was a perfect fit because he wanted something that lived a long time.

My experience

Having worked with the psychologically fragile I understand that caregivers need a chance to receive respite for all the hours they put in. It is a lot of work and mentally demanding. A great day is even an hour of peacefulness. It is not unheard of for smaller children suffering from an emotional disturbance to suddenly appear naked, to shock the caregiver. Luckily, I do not believe adults are the same. The hardest part is convincing caregivers that respite is for them, not because they can’t do their job right.

Chess Game

Walking along the buttress

Of her seemingly war proof fortress

Grace asked her soldiers for much less

To whisper so that noise was voiceless

Lest they should feel so useless

They went off to play the game of chess.

Three Things Challenge

For Di at pensitivity101:

Your three things today are:

a walk in the park

While walking slow into the park

Feeling the wave of some fresh clean air

It was starting to get a bit dark

My neck had standing up hair.

I didn’t know why I did feel

Like someone was there watching me

All that I know is it’s peaceful

Almost like water being pumped out to sea.

Bixxy Bunny

Bixxy was a bunny

Who loved to make her clothes

She had a special button

Its shaped just like her nose

She uses all her fabric

To make her dress just fine

If she were a real designer

I’d definitely make her mine.
