~ Conversation ~

Most interesting to me is what conversation reveals about the characters involved. Conversation can be easy or hard, direct or indirect, one-sided or two-sided or multi-dimensional.

The upcoming year…

The school year will be fine…
This is going to be one hell of a shit year…
Things will be great with all of the new things planned…
It won’t be good if you don’t have help from administration…
No matter what anyone thinks, there will be success with this plan…
I can’t do this for much longer…
You’ll have a great year and other schools will want to know how you did it…
I can’t believe I’m doing this again…
I know I can make some positive changes, even if they are only baby steps…
Ten months of this…

This is my teacher brain talking to my human brain...

  1. I would laugh if it weren’t so true that we try to talk ourselves past the reservations and negative experience–but inside, we know! An important capture. I hope this poem travels far.

  2. I like the way you did this — having a conversation with oneself. It was really effective. I had been a teacher, so I truly understand. One has to talk oneself into doing it another year. Going back is the hardest.

  3. The difficulties that teachers face is something most of us cannot fathom. New faces, new temperaments, new generation and then there are the plethora of changes!

  5. Yes! I know several teachers and completely empathize with this inner conversation. Sigh. How can it be 2026 and the system still be so unenlightened?
