As if in a boat floating on a canal
The link between time and place becomes blurry
A laser splits consciousness into pieces
Leisure becomes a necessity
I close my eyes and hold my breath
Waiting for the feeling to pass
The feeling of tranquility
As if in a boat floating on a canal
Water lapping gently against the sides
Rhythm matching my heartbeats
Pulsing sensations become seconds
The link between time and place becomes blurry
My mind strays to happier times
Wondering why there is a lapse there at all
Knowing I am gifted every day with life
A laser splits consciousness into pieces
Memories flow like the clouds floating by
The distant past seems unreal
The soul trying to remember what it felt like
Leisure becomes a necessity.

Leisure is great… though for me to have true leisure I cannot sit still.

Haha, I have a hard time too! Even when I’m watching television I am playing a game or doing a puzzle on my phone, working on my computer, drawing, writing, something…

This is a lovely cascade poem Christine. Makes me miss the peace and tranquility of the river when we were on the boat. Thanks for using the 3TC.

Thanks Di! That is one thing I love, the sound of the boats at the docks at night!

Sleeping aboard and hearing the gentle lapping of the water against the hull is very soothing.

Is Maya getting back to her normal self yet?

She seems to be, still keeping herself clean and the spotting on the lino is almost non existent now. She still has a bit of a sensitive tummy and we think it’s something we’ve been feeding her so the process of elimination begins tomorrow.

I know you don’t watch television so I know you haven’t seen these advertisements but here in the US they are now advertising all of these “healthy, human-grade” diets for dogs. Some are freeze dried to avoid the heat, some are all fresh food but the price is nuts! The last one I looked into it would cost almost $300 USD a month to feed the dog! We don’t even spend that on people food! All power to you if its possible but I think that has to be more of an option for small dogs. My friend breeds Papillons and she does a homemade diet but those little ones eat something like a quarter cup of food a day! Brody isn’t as big as Maya but he can eat!

She has 450g of food plus treats as a rule, but has put on a few more pounds than we’d like so have cut back to 400g. of dried food. This is still well in the parameters for her size and weight so we’re not ‘starving her’. A friend in the next road has just opened a shop selling raw/frozen dog food. His prices are reasonable and he has two big dogs, a shepherd and shepadoodle (not related). Raw food would cost us around the same as dried, but I have nowhere to store it if we wanted to change.

Yes, that is another issue with it. Brody loves eating all day so I do feed him a little less than what would be his limit because otherwise he is eating way too much.
