It’s Thursday’s Six Sentence Story Blog Hop

The pilot turned on his microphone and started talking to the passengers of the airplane.
“We will be landing in a few days, we have enough gas to last us nearly a week!”
Everyone was bewildered to hear this as there has never been an airplane that can fly for that long without running out of gas.
Suddenly, people began to panic and the murmurs turned into louder comments and eventually most passengers were beginning to scream!
The stewards on the plane tried to calm everyone down telling them “the pilot is a pro and has never estimated wrong on his fuel tank!”
That was when the plane began plummeting toward the ground and the pilot reported that his gas gauge was broken!

Just a silly rhyming poem. My mind is in rhyming mode…

Pilot, pilot, will I die?
I am so afraid to fly!
What will happen if we crash
What if I cannot act rash?
What if we can’t safely land?
What if we land in quick sand?
I cannot handle this much stress
My make-ups mussed, my hair’s a mess!
But walking will not get me far
I’d like to drive if I owned a car!
But flying now will get me there
You obviously do not care!

Now looking at my poem I could have combined lines into a six line poem! My mind is like that spinning airplane with no gas!

  1. Yikes! Sounds like a nightmare or a Twighlight Zone episode. I’d rather fly than ride in a car for more than a few hours, but my honest preference (reinforced by your story) is to just stay home.

  2. (I’m with murisopsis… rather cool doing a prose/poetry pair in a Six format)

You, of course, pose a secret question that many who find themselves emigres in this virtual world of blogs, “How would I react in such a situation?”
