[…] you to those who shared their desktops with me last month: Christine, Brian, Deb, Martin, Ed, and Cathy. As always, I love seeing what you are looking at 🥰 and hope […]
Hi Christine, and a big welcome to my little challenge. Your image is wonderful, and as Brian said, it would be delightful to look at each day. Thank you so much for sharing this with me and joining in on the SYD fun. I hope to see you again next month 🥰
I will be back as long as I remember! I find some of these to participate in but there are so many that I think sometimes they get lost in the WP world!
I went scuba diving once a long while back and thought it was absolutely magnificent. Someday I hope to go again. I went snorkeling last year and it was nice but not as amazing as being at the bottom of the ocean!
Down here in Florida I noticed that they are starting to build a lot of artificial reefs with concrete. I say go for it if it is safe for the environment. Better to build a beautiful reef that a huge garbage pile on land!
Yes, David had told me that the Navy oftens sinks ships they can’t use anymore. I think as long as it doesn’t hurt the wildlife then why not! Do you have Netflix? I was watching a show called Our Oceans, produced by Barack Obama and Michelle Obama and it was awesome. In it there are video clips of actual fish swimming through polution. So sad that this goes on
I live where there isn’t any services like streaming for my TV. Using the ocean as a garbage dump is another of this worlds big mistake. Just tip it out there and it goes away from sight. I saw in the 70’s big barges full of garbage being towed from New York out to sea and being dumped 🙄
So you must know about the Great Garbage Patch. It is horrifying. A few years back there was a young man that had put together a device to help clear all the garbage, obviously one small step at a time, but I’m sure it had to go to the wayside due to funding. Perhaps a few billionaires could chip in to clean a bit of it up? Yeah….not.

I have never scuba dived but have done heaps of snorkelling in the shallow reefs around eastern Australia

I can’t even imagine doing that. Snorkeling in Mexico is fun but it isn’t a coral reef that’s for sure!

These have been reefs and not a coral reef. They are further north from here but would be an experience

A lot of the artificial reefs here are made from old boats. The sea life seems to like them. That gives the divers something interesting as well.

Yes, I did wonder what happened to the clean up invention and inventor. There’s no profit in doing the right thing by the planet 🙄
