Memories: A Collaboration

Written by Christine Bialczak (Stinewriting) and Ami at https://wordpress.com/reader/users/amio1958

A scent in the air from the past

captures my memories,

tomorrow will keep them near.

Inching closer,

tomorrow brings a chill.

Mind slips back,

flowers close and drop

searching for answers.

Tomorrow looms far away,

nostalgia taps the senses.

Time lapsed visions loop

through my fading memory.

The past becomes the present,

fields lush with daffodils.

The good combines

with the bad.

Blue lakes brim with frogs and fish,

Reality is recognized, recalled, recited.

Tapestry Poetry

  • Description: Developed by poets Avril Meallem and Shernaz Wadia, this form involves two poets who write nine-line poems on a single, shared title without discussing it.
  • Process: After composing independently, they weave their two poems into a single 18-line piece, editing it back and forth until they are both satisfied.
  • Outcome: The collaboration creates a “tapestry” that blends their two distinct poetic visions into one cohesive work.

Ami:
There is a scent in the air,
captures my memories,
and brings them near.

Christine:
From the past
Heading to tomorrow
Inching closer

Ami:
Tomorrow brings a chill
flowers close and drop
tomorrow looms far away

Christine:
Minds slip back
searching for answers
Nostalgia taps the senses

Ami:

Time lapsed visions loop in my memory,

of fields lush with daffodils and

blue lakes brimming with frogs and fish.

Christine:

The past comes to the present
The good combines with bad

Reality is recognized, recalled, recited
