Foundations: A Collaboration

This is a collaboration between me and Di at https://pensitivity101.wordpress.com/

Foundations

Foundations are my lifeline:

Start at the beginning with no end in sight

Sturdy, secure, solid.

Forming the base to grow upon

Life has made them shaky,

So many directions to go

Upheaval, dismissal, uncertainty,

Wondering who will choose the touchstone

Stubbornness is my rock:

Planted seeds become realities known

Take heart and ride the storm,

Growth continues as minds open

Blend and mould to the future,

Paths intersect and cross forming the map

Embrace change, but don’t submit,

Minds transfixed now indifferent

And lay foundations anew.

Deciding the migration determines the goal.

Tapestry Poetry

  • Description: Developed by poets Avril Meallem and Shernaz Wadia, this form involves two poets who write nine-line poems on a single, shared title without discussing it.
  • Process: After composing independently, they weave their two poems into a single 18-line piece, editing it back and forth until they are both satisfied.
  • Outcome: The collaboration creates a “tapestry” that blends their two distinct poetic visions into one cohesive work.
