Here are this week’s prompts:
- Write a post based on the word reunion.
- Write a post with exactly 10 sentences.
- Write about the most humid place you’ve been.
- Did you ever get in trouble from someone other than your parents? Tell us about it.
- Write about a time you got a line or penalty.
- If you could only ask one question to each person you meet, what would that question be?
Reunion:
I remember going to a family reunion on my dad’s side when I was probably ten or eleven. We didn’t know any of the relatives as my dad was never the one to keep in touch with people. I remember meeting one of my cousins, Stacey, and it was a blast. We kept in touch via writing letters for a little while but then that dwindled when we never got together again. I still don’t know what ever happened to her. I recall she was actually a second or third cousin to me so the connection wasn’t super close
10 Sentences:
- David and I are heading up to North Carolina to look at houses.
- Luckily my dog Brody is my service dog so he can come with us.
- We have a vacation planned for October when we will go overseas and unfortunately Brody can’t go.
- I work at a Single A baseball stadium, home of the Pittsburgh Pirates, so we only work a week on and then a week off.
- With this type of schedule I don’t have to take much time off.
- I’m at work right now but the ticket booths are not open yet and since my manager doesn’t have anything for me to do, I am blogging.
- I finally started using my new scroll saw.
- I am so excited to see how much I can actually get done with it, there is so much potential.
- I found a way to “get rid of” the invasive grasshoppers that are killing all of my plants, diatomaceous earth.
- I try to use “environmentally friendly” pesticides but if it kills something is it truly environmentally friendly?
Most Humid Place
My backyard. The minute you walk out you are soaked through your clothes.
Getting in Trouble
Back when I was about 16 years old, my mother had to go from our home in CT to Cleveland, Ohio for a bone marrow transplant, which at the time was only being done at a few special facilities, this one being Cleveland Clinic. She was gone for about six months maybe. Anyhow, while she was gone I was pretty much fully in charge of my little brother who was a toddler at that time. One day we had gone to Stop and Shop to pick up some groceries and he had bugged me about wanting some candy or something. I remember being annoyed and telling him to just take it. Well, that is shoplifting. So next thing I know security is escorting the two of us up to the office. I tell him my name and he askes what relation I am to Joanna, my sister. Wow! I never knew. Anyhow, I can’t remember what happened besides me being scared to death. I can’t say I was a saint after that but it is something I will NEVER forget.
Not really sure about a line or penalty….
Honestly I don’t think I would ask anyone anything. I would be quiet

Interesting answers! I’m impressed that you took care of your brother at such a young age!

I suppose I didn’t have a choice. Back then bone marrow transplants were purely a chance thing and my mother qualified. I remember people asking if that was my son and I was horrified. Funny because now there is nothing terribly abnormal with teenage motherhood, but back then that was not even in realm of thought!

Hehe! Yeah, it happened but it was kept hushed. Either the girl was shipped off and the baby given up for adoption, or an older relative or even the girl’s mother would take the baby and raise it as their own. Usually the child wouldn’t find out until adult hood that their “older sister” was really their mother and the person they called mom was in reality their grandmother or aunt!

I don’t know how people are able to keep that lie going but I guess if you convince yourself day after day you almost must forget the truth.
