Just Sitting Here Thinking

I sit here and ponder the way of the world
that world that I currently live in
I wonder who thought that work could be fun
and having fun could be such a sin

I think of the days I’ve had in my life
and think about those ones I miss
I think about happiness I get to feel
with each mornings’ “Good Morning” kiss

I recall the days I used to be happy
with nothing ‘cept the sight of the moon
The days that seemed longer than ever before
The ones that ended too soon

I anticipate heartache and long crying nights
when thinking of all I have lost
Or spending the time with those that I love
Relishing this time with no cost

One day I’ll be gone and those who knew me
may laugh and remember my face
spent with good friends, good food, and good fun
all along this life we call a “Rat Race”

  1. Sometimes, life feels like waiting for microwave popcorn—moments of anticipation, memories popping up unexpectedly. Your reflections hit deep; the simple joys, the fleeting days, the laughter shared. It’s a reminder to savor the now, like that warm, buttery popcorn—small comforts in a fast-moving world. Thanks for sharing these thoughts!
