W3 Prompt #150: Wea’ve Written Weekly

https://skepticskaddish.com/2025/03/12/w3-prompt-150-weave-written-weekly/

Sally’s prompt guidelines

  • Write a story in any poetic form, using no more than 500 words.

A daughters fear dismissed for now
The sweat is wiped from furrowed brow
Concerns still grow, new one each day
Wishing things could remain one way

Time moves on without a stop
Clock will tick with each tear drop
Knowing that the end will come
Dark fills space courage is from

Memories will fail, no more are made
Even cherished some will fade
The days tick by with weighted dread
Alarming thoughts fill my head

Alone each day not knowing why
To ponder long bring stifled cry
Confused and lost nothing to save
Acting strong embellish brave

No options left, a waiting game
Each day goes on, each day the same
Happiness brought with a quick visit
Despite the thought one cannot quit

  1. You know that I took care of my father, right? I was with him when he passed.

This is so so touching, so moving. It made my heart ache.

Thank you for writing it — Sally
