Bittersweet Memories Last

It was many years being married to him
For twenty plus years the good and the bad
First real true love to love me for me
He’s the man every woman wishes she had

First came the girl as cute as can be
Independent and confident she was a pearl
Went all through school barely trying but great
Now an adult I am proud of that girl

The second time came and this time a boy
So happy to feel like we were all done
Smarter than smart, funny and loving
To every mom’s fear, death took my son

All of my past is gone and all done
My life of today brings me pleasure and joy
My daughter and I are the only two left
Life is so hard without my man and my boy
