Our Trip!
We had a great cruise! MSC is awesome! I have to say that now I’ve done many of the popular lines (Carnival, Norwegian, Royal Carribean) and this was the best! I actually booked a shorter cruise for my daughter and I for her Christmas present!
The first place we stopped was Jamaica. It was probably my favorite. The artisans were right there working so it was hard to haggle with pricing when you see how much work they put in to their art. I bought two hand carved giraffes for my collection! We went down into the Green Grotto caves and saw bats and the most beautiful pool of water. No drinking or swimming though! Because of all the bats, the water that leeches through the rocks becomes contaminated by their guano (bat poop).

The second stop was Grand Cayman. I had been here once before and there wasn’t much time to spend on this island so we didn’t do anything special. It was quite boring as the ship sort of shuts down when in port. I did find a tiny little spot to put my feet in the water though!

The third stop was Cozumel. I have been here as well but we took a catamaran trip and I snorkeled! I loved scuba diving and this is definitely the easier and cheaper of the two to access so I am hooked! Years ago after scuba diving I bought this mask that covers your whole face but never used it. I’m going to now!

Finally we stopped at MSC’s private island, Ocean Cay. It was gorgeous! No one is on the island unless they work for the company and those related to them. It was pristine and just perfect! There was some things to do but we chose to sit and relax on the beach. The whole island is manmade. https://www.mscoceancay.com/en-us/

We’re going in January! Sounds like a perfect vacation!!

Yes Norwegian – for 14 days… It is going to be fun but they cancelled one of my excursions. Now I have to make a decision – do my own thing and hang out at the beach or book a different excursion… the beach is looking really good!

Yes, I’ve gone on Norwegian a couple of times. Never for 14 days! Just you and Sparky? How many ports? We didn’t make any plans for our stop in Grand Cayman because it was a short day there but we still wish we had because the boat, although still sort of active, kindof shut down while in port! We were a bit bored but on the other hand there wasn’t that much of a choice for excursions.

We have 9 ports and 8 countries. We are going with my sisters and their husbands , so 6 of us. The logistics of excursions and coordination of hotels before and after the cruise is getting crazy! Only a couple weeks until we leave so I’m making a packing list!

Wow, that is awesome! Yes, a lot of planning. I waited until I was on the ship to book the excursions. We missed out on one because it filled up but the others were fine and they do all the leg work and just tell you where to go. I know you will have a fabulous time!

I wasn’t sure about posting the one in the life jackets because David hated it so much but it was just fun! Luckily I did get some wonderful photos!

They are actually pretty affordable if you get a sale. They include all food and most drinks so once on the boat you don’t have to worry about spending money!
