Sadness

Nudged by just one feeling, scents flow freely through the air
Stirs up my nostalgia in a space where I don’t care
There is no end to feeling, no magic will be found
An unrelenting sadness stretches down into the ground
Turning my face up to the sky, no words come to my head
On the edge of madness, a looming sense of dread
I close my eyes and hold my breath and hope to fall asleep
I’m falling through this dark despair, a feeling I won’t keep
Until the light of morning comes to open up my eyes
And realize its a memory of a time that I despise
A time that came and went away, one never to come back
That left an empty hole in me, forever dark and black
