Paulo Coelho on X: “Promises mean everything, but after they are broken, sorry means nothing” / X.Sep 27, 2017

Promise to my daughter

Back in the day before you were born
I promised you things I’ll never regret
I said I would love you whatever you do
I could never stay mad, sad or upset

To this day
I proudly say
I love you
in every way

    • To be honest, I am hoping she sees it. One night about a month ago or so she called me late, probably around 1 am, because her boyfriend was being a cruel ass, as usual. Anyhow, she asked me if me and her dad had ever cheated on each other. I was so surprised and I told her absolutely not, we were both faithful despite arguments and whatnot. She said that once she read one of my poems and it “sounded like you were writing that dad cheated on you”. I couldn’t believe it and she said that she had been afraid to ask me about it but has had that worry for a long time. I don’t know what she read but I told her that was NOT my intention and she felt better. Long story short, I am hoping she reads this one!
